When you become a full member and have passed your probationary period, you can make application to the Committee for a Hanger site , if one is available. You may also purchase an existing Hanger if one of the Members has one for sale. Be careful when purchasing an existing hanger as it could have unpaid site rentals or have repairs to roof , guttering etc required by the Club. You can check these requirements with the Committe before purchase. As the new owner you will be required to complete these items in a fairly short timeframe.

What are the benefit of being a Member of the NSW Sport Aircraft Club Inc.?
Wedderburn was founded as an inexpensive venue for members to fly, house their aircraft and fraternize with aviation minded people. And it continues to adhere to those principals today. So ideally it is the Flying Club there for your pleasure---- not simply a place to park your aircraft..
Who is eligible to be a Committee Member?
When you become a full Member you are eligible to be elected to the Committee at the Annual general meeting held in March in every year.
What if I want to join but do not know any existing Members?
The Club has made provision for you to obtain three referees in lieu of a Proposer and seconder who must be Members of the Club and must have known you for two years. Similarly, your referees must have known you for at least two years but need not be members of the Club.
The Club was founded on a self help principle, and this continues today. Work days bring everyone together five to six times a year to carry out the essential maintenance on the airfield and in some cases kick start any projects the club is undertaking. As a full member you must attend three of these workdays. If you fail to do so a fine of $50- will be levied for every one of the three workdays missed. If you are unable to attend the prescribed workday but can provide of your services at another time, a specific task can be allocated to you in lieu of the obligatory workday. If you are ages over 65 then you are exempt from these penalties. You may still contribute to the workdays on a voluntary basis.
What happens on Open Days in November?
Open Day in November is our Day to show the General public and the rest of the aviation community what we are all about Generally we open the Club around 9am . Everyone who wishes to, puts their Aircraft on display in the Parking area. we run various competitions during the day such as spot landing etc. The ladies Auxiliary run a raffle for good prizes, not necessarily aviation based. We also have visitors from the Gliding Club, and the Yaks do a fly over. We sometimes have a fly by of a specific aircraft and a guessing competition in regard to the speed of the fly past is conducted. This can be a slow fly past or at a speed of the pilots choosing. Generally it is a good day for Socializing with your fellow members and a good time to bring your friends in to see what you do when you go "Flying".
If I build a hanger at Wedderburn , can I sell it later?
Hangers are bought and sold regularly. The only specification is that hangers can only be sold to Club Members who are eligible to purchase a hanger site That is :- Must be a full member, must have a current Pilots licence and Must own a flyable aircraft or if constructing an aircraft own a substantially built aircraft
The lower age limit to fly solo is fifteen, and there is no upper limit provided you are healthy, and suffer no medical conditions that may impede your ability to fly.
To be a passenger you can be almost any age at all, subject to the discretion of the pilot.
If I am over 65 now, am I too old to join the Club?
No. Applications are welcome from potential members of any age. However , unless you are currently an active pilot then Social membership may be more suitable..
