There is growing concern that wildlife is becoming too tame at our airfield, and is beginning to create a hazard to aircraft. The wildlife includes kangaroos on the grass strip well before dusk, and ducks at just about any time during the day. Please assist by making these animals feel unwelcome at any opportunity you may get. Please don't harm them, but discourage their presence by any appropriate means.
Please ensure the airstrip is safe for operations before taking off and landing as Kangaroos have been sighted on the runway and taxiways during operations!
Appin Aeromodelers Club will relocate to 450 Macquariedale Road Appin, 3nm west of the airfield on 1st May. Aircraft below 300 ft AGL in this area risk being hit by a model weighing up to 10 kg.
Please note the following NOTAM issued by CASA, which will remain in effect until the APPIN MODEL AIRCRAFT AREA is depicted on the Sydney VTC in June, 2011.
